Biography
Adv. Sisty Bernard is a Partner at Lawgical Attorneys and heads the Firm's specialised Litigation & Dispute Resolution and Banking & Finance departments. He is an experienced Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania with a strong background in complex commercial litigation, banking and finance, land disputes, labour matters, tax disputes and general civil litigation.
Prior to joining Lawgical Attorneys, Adv. Bernard gained valuable experience from reputable legal practices, including IRM Legal, Ngalo & Co. Advocates, and Vission Attorneys, where he handled a wide range of contentious and advisory matters for corporate clients, financial institutions, businesses and individuals.
He has represented clients before the Court of Appeal of Tanzania, the High Court of Tanzania, including the Commercial Division and Land Division, as well as before tax and labour tribunals. His litigation practice covers commercial disputes, debt recovery, banking claims, contractual disputes, land matters, employment disputes, tax-related matters and enforcement proceedings.
Adv. Bernard also advises clients on banking and finance transactions, project financing, security documentation, mortgages, conveyancing, capital markets, insurance, receivership and regulatory compliance. His experience includes assisting clients in structuring transactions, reviewing financing documents, advising on securities, and supporting clients in managing legal risks connected with lending, borrowing and commercial arrangements.
He is known for his careful legal analysis, practical approach to dispute resolution, strong advocacy skills and ability to handle complex matters with professionalism and strategic focus. His practice reflects the Firm's commitment to delivering effective, commercially sensible and client-focused legal solutions.
